Marti Istanbul to open in Summer 2012
Marti Istanbul is the newest addition to the Marti Group, a family owned company founded in 1967. Marti Group has established itself as one of Turkey’s leading hotel groups and currently has four operating hotels and resorts situated on the Turquoise Coast. Marti Istanbul will mark the company’s first ever city operation.
Located in Taksim; the shopping, cultural and commercial heart of the city, the property is surrounded by theatres and restaurants putting guests right at the centre of life in Istanbul. Marti Istanbul is also in easy reach of all major historic sites and ancient bazaars and the famous Bosphorus shores making it the perfect base for a weekend of sight-seeing.
Designed by internationally acclaimed Zeynep Fadilloglu, Marti Istanbul will be an impressive contemporary structure with exclusive touches that reflect the heritage of the city that surrounds it. Art will play a major part in the design of the hotel, with promises of a projected installation of running water and artwork from Kutlug Atama, a Turkish Carnegie prize winner, this hotel will be the number one hot spot in Istanbul.
The hotel will have 270 luxurious guest rooms and suites spread over 11 floors, all of which have been designed to the highest of standards using contemporary design teamed with subtle Ottoman flair.
At the heart of Marti Istanbul is an impressive Atrium that will fill the hotel with natural light. There will also be an Ottoman tent located at the centre of the Atrium, with hand painted designs lining the walls, the tent space will be in keeping with a traditional Ottoman lounge but with a contemporary twist. Zeynep Fadilloglu has worked with a team of Turkish artists to bring to life the design of Marti Istanbul, this team is also behind the re-design of the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul.
Marti Istanbul will offer guests four bar and restaurant areas, these will include the Brasserie & Café, a relaxed dining area in a courtyard setting at the centre of the hotel and the Atrium Restaurant that will offer guests all-day dining. Throughout the hotel there will be a rich and exciting array of Turkish and international cuisines for guests to sample.
Located on the 11th floor of the hotel will be the impressive SPA. Using Turkish spa tradition, the SPA will offer guests various Hammams and saunas. There will also be a hair and beauty salon along with several treatment rooms, making it the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate after a hard days sight-seeing. There will also be an extensive state of the art gym available to all guests at the hotel.
