Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort in Los Cabos has reopened its doors following renovations, offering a range of new luxury suites and a fresh dining concept. Forming part of Marriott Bonvoy’s The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, the resort first opened in 2018.

Enhancements to the newly reopened property include the addition of 21 luxury suites, including the Villa Solaz Suite, which spans 10,645ft² and features four private bedrooms. The new suites bring the resort’s total room count to 145.

The hotel is also debuting two new Wellness Suites – which add to its 12 existing spa treatment rooms – one of which boasts a double-bed massage table and steam room, while the other offers heated loungers and meditation visors. The fitness centre meanwhile is home to Technogym equipment and Cryotherapy facilities.

Further enhancement comes in the form of Mako Beach, which serves Baja-style cuisine alongside live entertainment and DJ sessions on the hotel’s private 1,246 linear ft beach. With its new openings, Solaz now comprises seven F&B outlets, all led by Executive Chef Elihu Sepúlveda and his team.

“We are excited to reopen and showcase the exciting new upgrades that elevate the experience of visiting Solaz and Los Cabos,” says General Manager Giuliana Torres. “We look forward to welcoming new visitors and seeing our returning guests continue to create unforgettable memories at the resort.”

The property’s design showcases works by Mexican artisans, including architecture by Sordo Madaleno and more than 450 pieces of sculpture and art by artist César López-Negrete. In addition, the on-site indigenous gallery and museum increase its cultural and artistic offerings. As for further public spaces across the resort, it boasts over 20,000 ft² of meeting and event space, including the 3,400ft² Cousteau Ballroom and the 11,000ft² outdoor Calypso Ocean Front Deck.

Landscape architecture led by Jeronimo Gabayet blends seamlessly into Solaz’s design and highlights the over 120 endemic species living on the property. Seeking to minimise environmental impact, the resort features 53,000m² of green spaces, while 36% of rooms contain green roofs that allow for lower energy consumption. Smart rooms are controlled with Crestron technology that maintains temperature levels, lighting and closes curtains when guests are not present. Additionally, 80% of the lights are LED, decreasing its energy consumption.

Philipp Weghmann, Vice President and Global Brand Leader of The Luxury Collection by Marriott, concludes: “The reopening of Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort, Los Cabos marks the return of one of our most beloved resorts in the Caribbean and Latin America.”
