Marriott to open Courtyard Belgrade

Marriott International’s Courtyard by Marriott brand has announced that its first hotel in Serbia, the 114-room Courtyard Belgrade City Center, will open on 7 September. The hotel, which showcases the brand’s new European design, has a glass façade that contrasts against the backdrop of the historic city. The opening will mark Courtyard’s entry into its 42nd country, as the brand continues to expand globally.

Situated in the heart of the city in Republic Square, a short walk from the shopping and restaurants of Knez Mihailova and the cobbled streets of Belgrade’s Bohemian Quarter, the Courtyard Belgrade will be just a 20 minute drive from Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport.

The property will be comprised of two Studio rooms and 112 Standard rooms, all of which feature 42-inch Smart LED TV and complimentary wifi. The Courtyard Belgrade City Center will meet the needs of both business and leisure travellers, with facilities including one meeting room, a 24-hour market for refreshments, a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a fitness centre. Furthermore, the lobby spaces will feature free wifi and flexible seating, whilst an interactive GoBoard touchscreen will provide up to the minute news, weather and local information.

Courtyard by Marriott celebrated its milestone 1000th hotel in March 2015 with the opening of Courtyard Washington Walla Walla, USA. With the largest global rooms pipeline across the Marriott portfolio, Courtyard expects to have hotels in 45 countries by the end of 2015. With a current presence in all 50 US states, nearly 50% of new projects are expected be outside of the brand’s home country in the coming years, with several new hotels planned for Europe by the end of 2016.
