Mandarin Oriental will make its debut in Greece in summer 2023 with a 90-suite resort tucked away in the southwest Peloponnese.
Perched on a landscaped hillside overlooking the Mediterranean, the property will blend luxury with the traditional Messenian style of the region. Its suites and villas feature private pools, as well as spacious terraces, while the decor will celebrate 19th-century Greek design and reflect the surrounding historical sites through motifs and wood carvings. A natural, terracotta colour palette results in a soothing space, paired with custom-designed furniture and floor-to-ceiling windows. Fabrics and rugs meanwhile are inspired by the weaving of traditional Greek dress.
Drawing on its natural surroundings, Mandarin Oriental Costa Navarino will boast more than 2,700 replanted olive trees and over 500,000 planted native shrubs, while the brand’s sustainable ethos will continue to manifest in a single-use plastic free policy – characteristic of all its hotels.
Additional amenities will include five restaurants and bars, each seeking to honour local Greek tradition alongside an array of international flavours and cuisines. Rounding out the offer, the resort’s spa will comprise private treatment rooms, heat and water experiences and a 25m swimming pool that flows from indoors to outdoors.
The opening will take Mandarin Oriental’s existing portfolio to 36 hotels and nine residences worldwide.
