Maisons Pariente has unveiled its first Parisian address with the opening of Le Grand Mazarin. Located in the heart of the Marais district, the hotel comprises 61 rooms and suites, a restaurant, bar, winter garden, cabaret and an indoor swimming pool.
Designed by Martin Brudnizki, the hotel bears the hallmarks of the designer’s refined yet eclectic style. Located in a 14th century building, Le Grand Mazarin sees the Pariente family demonstrating their passion for art throughout, with nearly 500 works scattered across the hotel. Maisons Pariente and Brudnizki have also called upon the skills of a number of French craft houses, such as the Entreprises du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Companies).
Contemporary artists Jacques Merle and Sophia Pega have each created bespoke work for Le Grand Mazarin. The work of Menorcan-born Sophie Pega sees Le Grand Mazarin’s winter garden dressed with 12 celestial windows inspired by tarot cards.
Jacques Merle meanwhile created the hotel’s unique indoor swimming pool fresco, made up of flowers and hand-painted trees that evoke the Greek myth of Narcissus.
The hotel is home to a range of additional amenities, including its bar and restaurant Boubalé, and a secret cabaret space.
