M Social Singapore launches

M Social Singapore, a new avant-garde hotel designed by Philippe Starck, has launched in Robertson Quay, Singapore.

Emphasising a community experience, the hotel features 293 guestrooms alongside a restaurant, bar and rooftop pool. Overlooking the vibrant Robertson Quay enclave, the hotel is part of an integrated development.

The design utilises a democratic concept where spaces around the hotel are designed to be accessible and flexible to guests’ needs, with an underlying theme of comfort. Starck comments: “M Social will be the new and vibrant place in Singapore where elegance, creativity and technology meet to offer a unique experience to our global smart tribe.”

The design-led guestrooms span 10 floors, and are available in four different categories: The Nice Room, The Nicer Room, The Big Room and The Bigger Room. Furnished with luxurious pashmina throws and deluxe carpets, each guestroom provides a stylish, relaxing space. High ceilings feature in all categories, with additional elements including a leafy terrace included with The Nicer Room and duplex-style Bigger Room. Meanwhile, The Nice and Nicer Rooms see the distinctive addition of V-shaped ceilings.

M Social Singapore also features a selection of open spaces, all with fully customised art and design elements, whilst the entrance to the hotel is marked by sculptures and patterned tiles.

Located within the property is Beast & Butterflies, a restaurant and bar with an open kitchen, communal tables and striking artwork. Overlooking the Singapore River, the bar offers a range of expertly mixed artisanal cocktails while the restaurant’s menu is influenced by both eastern and western cuisines.

It is the first hotel in Singapore to offer a self-check-in kiosk in to ensure a quick, streamlined process, and located within each guestroom is a complimentary smartphone amenity that comes with unlimited data and calls both locally and internationally. Additionally, a committee of local tastemakers and personalities have curated the I M Social Series, a programme of activities such as tai-chi sessions and yoga on the pool deck.

Paul James, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Branding at Millennium Hotels & Resorts comments: “We’re delighted to be launching M Social in Singapore, it’s great for the millennial market and reflects our departure into lifestyle hotels. As the first hotel for the new brand and with plans to expand in Asia and beyond, it’s a really exciting time for us.”
