Luxury Murat Reis opens in Ayvalik
Stylish and smart, ultra-chic Murat Reis Hotel has opened in hidden gem Ayvalik, Turkey, with views spanning the Aegan coast.
The major renovation has made way for 91 luxurious rooms, bungalows and an exclusive villa, featuring typical Mediterranean style. Whitewashed greys, crisp blue striped linens and light-coloured Turkish travertine marble floors mark the interiors, while outside, natural views take centre stage.
Locally, centuries old stone houses are built in traditional Greek materials in neo-classical style and the nearby island of Cunda houses the Taxiarchis Church demonstrating traditional Byzantine architecture. Meanwhile, nearby islands thrive in the local oxygen-rich clean air, with an ecological niche of underwater flora and fauna, also boasting precious, red corals.
Murat Reis offers two restaurants with a wide selection of Mediterranean foods, as well as a deck bar, pool bar and lobby bar. The spa and fitness centre features a heated, open pool, sauna, steam room and Turkish bath.
