London’s The Gessner adds short stay suites
Way of Life has launched the first guest suites at The Gessner, a new hospitality-inspired residential offer in Tottenham Hale, London. Designed by Fettle, known for its work with The Hoxton, The Marylebone Hotel, Chucs and Mortimer House, and the spaces present a design-led alternative for short stays in the city.
Guests who stay in the double bedroom suites receive access to all the amenities and perks enjoyed by full-time residents of The Gessner, which include communal kitchens and dining rooms, lounges, an on-site cafe and workspace, and a large-scale rooftop terrace, with the same level of finish and design throughout.
The autumnal palette fuses natural elements like timber, stone and render finishes, while the interiors are also inspired by the artwork of Oisin Byrne, Becky Blair and Lizbeth Holstein, present across the building. Suites comprise a fully equipped kitchen supplied by Borough Kitchen, Buster and Punch ironmongery, Earl of East bathroom products, Samsung TVs, YogaMatters equipment and hand-made ceramics from local artisans.
In line with The Gessner’s philosophy that homes are for residents to make their own, the majority of the furniture is bespoke and suited to each apartment, including signature lighting pieces for shared spaces.
The aesthetic draws on Fettle’s experience with hotels, bars and restaurants, from Chucs Belgravia, to The Elder in Bath and Moncks of Dover Street. This is reflected in the mixture of private residential spaces and communal areas, designed to anticipate how residents will utilise different areas throughout their tenure.
The Gessner comprises 164 apartments to rent with a selection of studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with views across London. Tenancies for the apartments start from six months all the way to five years. All apartments are pet-friendly and many include private balconies. Amenities include an on-site cafe, fully equipped gym and full-time concierge and support team. Shared spaces for residents include a large rooftop garden with BBQ, communal kitchen and dining room, sitting rooms and lounges with fireplaces.
Way of Life offers a full-service rental in London and across the UK. It is designed to lay the foundations for renters to make a home with ready-to-move-in accommodation, no-fuss tenancy management and an in-house team to take care of billing, contracts and life admin, with no need for deposits or service charges.
“We’re delighted to launch our first guest suites at The Gessner, our take on the aparthotel concept allowing anybody to experience Way of Life for short- to medium-length stays,” explains Gavin Chetty, Creative Director of Way of Life. “Fettle’s designs set a new standard for stylish, quality living with high-calibre design that has been considered down to the last detail. These are beautifully curated and observed spaces, in a buzzing community and neighbourhood with excellent links to local hotspots and to London as a whole.”
