The Municipal Liverpool MGallery

Liverpool to welcome first MGallery

Accor’s MGallery portfolio is expanding, with the opening of The Municipal Liverpool, a boutique hotel housed in a Grade II listed building. The 179-room property will open in May in the heart of Liverpool’s commercial district, with offerings including a restaurant, bar and spa.

The mid-19th century property, managed by RBH Hospitality, will span four floors, with design references throughout paying homage to the building’s rich heritage of French and Italian influences. Reminders of the building’s past life as a council building will remain visible throughout, including a series of 7-foot-tall statues on the façade, and library style desks indoors. The focal point of the building’s exterior is its clocktower, which has been restored to bring it back to full working order.

Inside, guestrooms pair warm, earthy-toned palettes and opulent textures with views of Liverpool’s cityscape, while amenities include fully stocked minibars and bathroom amenities from lifestyle brand Culti.

MGallery Liverpool Guestroom

“I am delighted to write a new story for the Municipal building, bringing back its local heritage into a hotel and introducing the luxury brand MGallery to Liverpool,” says Deirdre Billing, General Manager. “It has been a joy to see this iconic building brought back to life and we can’t wait to welcome guests into the space and experience its charm for themselves. The hotel is an invitation to change the pace, take time and have a real break.”

While guestrooms are calm spaces, the restaurant and bar have been designed to exude the energy for which the city is famed. Palm Court bar and lounge will sit at the heart of the hotel, offering live music on select days, while The Botanic Team Room will serve patisseries and afternoon tea.

Wellness offerings include a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, fitness area, salon and spa – offering products from Elemis and Grown Alchemist – while those in a work frame of mind will be able to choose from the hotel’s six boardrooms.
