Leonardo opens ninth Munich hotel

Leonardo Hotels has announced its ninth hotel in Munich, the Leonardo Hotel Munich City South.

Following 18 months of intensive construction, the 159-key hotel will display further development of the Leonardo design concept. The hotel reception area will be flooded with light, while glass fronts throughout will see the building and its surrounding area blend together.

The open lobby will offer direct access to the bar and restaurant, and a warm palette of pastel tones coupled with a tailor-made lighting concept will provide strong accents. Original Bavarian design motifs will reference the destination, with this concept extending to the stylish interior furniture present in the guestrooms.

A 247m² conference area with adjoining roof terrace will provide space for a relaxing break, and three, 150 capacity, conference rooms will be equipped for events of all kinds. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception service, a business centre, free Wi-Fi throughout and underground parking. Jacolien Benes, previous manager of the Leonardo Hotel Munich City Olympiapark, will take on the role of General Manager here.

Daniel Roger, Managing Director of Leonardo for Europe, comments: “Munich is an important location for us. We welcome the incredible number of bookings we have already received before the official opening. This underscores our plan to add more hotels to our Munich operation. The Leonardo Hotel Munich City South will not be our last hotel. Already next year, two more hotels are due to open in the city, which will significantly strengthen our presence on site. We have a lot more that we want to achieve.”
