InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has officially reopened InterContinental Bangkok, after a multi-million dollar renovation process. The hotel has been revitalised with artistic nods to Bangkok’s culture, offering 381 new luxury guestrooms, club rooms and suites.

Touches of Thai design have been woven through the hotel, with the lobby’s centrepiece – a chandelier inspired by the Phuang Malai garland – welcoming guests in. Throughout the hotel, walls and ceilings showcase Thai culture, with traditional floating flowers and renowned Kranok patterns that trace back to the Sukhothai Kingdom. Local artisan artworks meanwhile channel the spirit of Thailand’s traditional welcoming ceremonies.

“As part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, InterContinental Bangkok is one of Thailand’s most premium hotels. Welcoming guests back to the InterContinental Life marks a significant milestone for us,” says Stephen Gould, General Manager. “Over the course of our renovation, we have thoughtfully woven in a blend of modern sophistication and Thai heritage inspired by the traditions of Thai welcoming ceremonies backed by world-class service.”

The newly-designed hotel will comprise seven food and beverage concepts, including California-inspired SoCal and all-day dining spot Espresso, which offers live cooking stations inspired by the street markets of Bangkok. Guests will also have access to a range of other amenities, including a reimagined rooftop pool, a full-service spa with a Thai massage room, a fitness centre and a wide range of meeting and event spaces.
