Rosewood Schloss Fuschl has opened its doors, following the careful restoration of a 15th-century castle perched by the waters of Lake Fuschl.

Originally constructed in 1461 as a hunting lodge for the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg, Schloss Fuschl served as the backdrop for legendary hunts and court gatherings for over three centuries. Now comprising 98 guestrooms, including 42 suites and six chalets, the property has been designed to preserve and rebirth Austrian tradition.

The design scheme pays homage to the site’s rich history and the region’s mountainous terrain, with the entire resort inspired by local flora and fauna. GA Group have designed its public spaces and guestrooms, while Austrian-based interior design firm have brought to life heritage suites and chalets. Design details inside accommodation include hand-painted mini bars depicting the four seasons, crafted by local Austrian artist Marie Hartig and featured throughout all guestrooms.

Rosewood Schloss Fuschl features six F&B outlets, all designed by German interior design firm, Dippold. The crown jewel is the Schloss Restaurant, which celebrates the diverse flavors of the region, while other venues include the Schloss Bar, an intimate Whisky Room and the Sisi Tee Salon, with its vitrine adorned with tempting cakes and pralines. Set against the backdrop of Lake Fuschl, Seeterrasse offers a relaxed all-day dining atmosphere, with a selection of ‘alpine to the sea’ dishes.

Closer to the water, the Schloss Fuschl See Club brings the spirit of a luxurious beach club to the Austrian Alps. For wine enthusiasts, the rustic Vinothek and Terrace provides a cosy meeting space to enjoy Austrian classics, paired with hearty meals prepared at the kitchen counter.
