Martin Brudnizki will be making his London hotel debut with the opening of 57-room Broadwick Soho. Launching in November 2023 in London’s West End, the hotel will showcase the flamboyant designs Brudnizki is known for, alongside architecture by Ica, with inspirations ranging from Jazz Age opulence to English eccentricity.
Rooms and suites in the new Brudnizki-designed property feature bespoke furniture and individually-selected artworks, while geometric patterns, layered textures and vibrant prints are complemented by soft and soothing colour schemes. Large windows allow natural light to flood in, while heritage-inspired herringbone floors and tassel-trimmed furniture have been chosen to channel a welcoming, home-from-home feel. Bathrooms meanwhile bring together chic marble wash-tops, walk-in rain-showers and sustainable amenities by Ortigia.
The property’s owner, Noel Hayden, has also ensured that guests will find touching nods to his family across the hotel. One such touch is restaurant Dear Jackie, named after Hayden’s mother, a lower-ground floor space of red silk walls and plush booths serving up Italian cuisine. The little sister of Dear Jackie, Bar Jackie is Broadwick Soho’s all-day street level Italian bar and terrace, paying tribute to the legendary Jackies of the past, present and future.
The hotel’s rooftop dining bar, Flute, draws its name from the noted flute-maker who lived on Broadwick Street in the 19th century. Flute’s landscaped wrap-around outdoor terrace offers views over the streets of Soho, while interiors combine cocooned comfort with maximalist glamour – animal-print upholstery, cork walls and mirrored ceilings united by a palm frond carpet.
Other spaces in which guests will be able to pass their time at Broadwick Soho include The Nook, a ground floor lounge decorated with intricate Italian fabrics and vintage finds, like a 1970s Murano chandelier and a curated collection of vintage books. Elsewhere, the hotel’s eighth floor private dining room seats up to 24 on one table, boasting views of the city that reach the London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Custom-made Broadwick Soho scent and candles will be found throughout the hotel, developed in partnership with perfumier Azzi Glasser.
