Inside KTGY’s redesign of Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park

KTGY recently unveiled its redesign of Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park, which saw a storytelling-focused design approach result in a bold new look for the hotel.

The project involved reimagining 83 Fairmont Gold guestrooms and suites, as well as the Fairmont Gold Lounge, Rouge meeting room and 2nd floor open-air “terrace”. KTGY’s team reflected the building’s Postmodern architectural style by bringing that prominence down to a human scale.

The historic Rouge meeting room, once a supper club, has been reimagined as a bright and airy space and rebranded as the Millennium Room. New interior architecture is the result of uncovering previously covered windows and raising the sunken floor to open up the space and increase natural light.

On the 15th floor, the Fairmont Gold Lounge has been given a more inviting and intimate feel with a new seating plan, finish and flooring. Newly dedicated spaces like the flex gathering space, library and lounge invite visitors to make themselves at home in elegant surroundings.

Fairmont Gold-level guestrooms and suites meanwhile have been revitalised with new finishes and furnishings, as well as a redesigned bathroom envisioned to represent the golden treatment, including through a walk-in shower and dual vanity.
