Delano Dubai is nearing its October 2024 opening, which will see the brand landing on the shores of Bluewaters Dubai, a lifestyle destination by Dubai Holding.
Offering hospitality, residential, retail and entertainment concepts, the hotel will comprise 167 guestrooms and 84 suites, topped off by a five-bedroom penthouse.
Conceived by a design team including Elastic Architects, LaBottega, SA Consultants and Y Design, the interiors of Delano Dubai have been influenced by the styling of the original Miami property, designed by Philippe Starck. The low-slung exterior is restrained and discrete, marked by verdant manicured topiary that harks back to South Beach’s infamous hedge, while the draping of soft, flowing fabrics creates a veiled arrival, smoothly transitioning guests into the Delano world.
The use of the brand’s signature white creates bright, light-filled spaces that form the foundation of a layered, tactile aesthetic, crafted through striking lighting, bold tones and materials such as leather, marble, onyx, white oak and mohair. Connecting them to nature, spaces are defined by organic forms, with fluted detailing and hand-painted botanical motifs, and cocoon-like clusters of curved chairs and sofas.
The natural aesthetic extends to the hotel’s rooms and suites, with soft, curved silhouettes and rich textures. Guestrooms are complete with a tonal colour palette, bespoke furnishings, a private balcony or terrace and a marble bathroom. Suites will be available with one or two bedrooms, and elegant living and dining spaces, as well as a variety of private outdoor settings, including terraces, gardens and pools.
Private beach and whimsical, landscaped gardens envelop the waterside property, which has been designed to offer the choice of isolation or immersion into a social hub. Fringed by billowing umbrellas, the hotel’s pool is set to draw inspiration from Roman baths in both aesthetics and purpose.
Three distinctive restaurant and bar concepts are poised to sit at the heart of Delano Dubai. Tutto Passa, an amber-hued Italian restaurant and terrace, will bring the Amalfi Coast to Dubai, while destination beachfront restaurant Blue Door pays homage to its namesake. The hotel will also play host to the reimagined Rose Bar, an elegant enclave that encapsulates the conviviality of the Delano classic.
