Indigo reveals second hotel in Poland
InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the opening of Hotel Indigo Warsaw – Nowy Swiat. Centrally located on one of the city’s most prominent historic thoroughfares, the opening highlights IHG’s growing footprint across the region, following the opening of Hotel Indigo Krakow – Old Town in 2016.
Comprising 60 individually designed guestrooms, a restaurant pairing middle eastern flavours with local Polish produce, and a bourbon lounge bar, the property respects the local aesthetic which sees restored gothic and neoclassical structures sitting alongside communist-era concrete towers and sleek, contemporary skyscrapers.
Grażyna Kania, General Manager of Hotel Indigo Warsaw – Nowy Swiat comments: “We are looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming guests and locals. Hotel Indigo is the perfect fit for thus location. Our hotel showcases the best of the local neighbourhood as well as acting as the perfect base to explore it.”
Guestrooms are dressed in dark grey shades or crisp white, and decorated with ornate mouldings and columns. Further offering high ceilings and spa-inspired bathrooms, the interior scheme plays into the Indigo brand’s combining of styles past and present.
Connecting the capital’s historic and more modern districts, the property allows guests to easily access local boutique shops, cultural venues and restaurants, whilst the nearby financial centre accommodates business travellers.
Tom Rowntree, IHG’s Vice President of Brand Management for Hotel Indigo, Europe, adds: “Boutique is the fastest growing segment in our industry, and with tourism to Eastern Europe continuing to rise, it’s an exciting time to be opening our second Hotel Indigo in Poland following Hotel Indigo Krakow – Old Town. This year is an exciting one for the brand. We’re expanding into new neighbourhoods including The Hague, London Aldgate and Cardiff and have just signed a new hotel to open in London, Leicester Square.”
There are currently 21 Hotel Indigo properties in Europe and a further 18 in the pipeline. Hotel Indigo Warsaw – Nowy Swiat will operate under a franchise agreement with Budizol.
