InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the signing of Hotel Indigo London – Aldgate. The newly built hotel will operate under a franchise agreement with Meadow Partners and Roquebrook. The 207-room hotel opening in 2017 will be located in Aldgate place, east of the City of London.

Set in the heart of a major residential and commercial development project taking shape along Leman Street and Aldgate East, the hotel will be close to key business districts including Canary Wharf, the City of London and Liverpool Street.

Last year the Hotel Indigo brand celebrated its tenth anniversary with the opening of its 60th hotel globally with Hotel Indigo Paris Opera. IHG’s global expansion has accelerated over the past three years, with the portfolio of open hotels outside of the US more than tripling in size as the brand continues to attract high quality opportunities in new gateway cities. In Europe, there are 19 Hotel Indigo properties open with a further 11 hotels in IHG’s development pipeline. Of those, nine Hotel Indigo properties are open in the UK and a further eight are in the pipeline in addition to the one announced today.
