IHG signs first internationally branded hotel in Borjomi, Georgia
Slated for a 2015 opening, the property will be converted into an 84-room hotel featuring 16 club rooms, a spa and fitness studio, six meeting rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a fine dining restaurant and a cocktail lounge.
The Crowne Plaza Resort will be situated in the heart of Borjomi, a picturesque Georgian spa and resort town known for its artesian natural springs. Located on Barathvili Street near Borjomi Parki Railway Station, the hotel is well placed to welcome both leisure and corporate travellers.
“We’re delighted and very proud to be the first international hotel company to develop a hotel in Borjomi,” commented Aron Libinson, Associate Vice President of Development, Russia, CIS & Georgia. “This is a priority market for us and we will soon be opening our second hotel here and have another two in the pipeline. We look forward to working with Park Hotel LLC and continuing to grow our brands here.”
Oliver Thiele, Owner of T&T Consulting concluded: “The hotel’s world class spa and conference facilities are set to become a destination in their own right. Borjomi is a fantastic meeting and resort destination that perfectly balances business with pleasure and we’re very much looking forward to welcoming a great mix of guests when we open our doors next year.”
