Hyatt Centric lands in France
Boutique hotel brand Hyatt Centric has announced the opening of a 69-key property in Espace San Bernardo, marking its entry into France.
Hyatt Centric La Rosière, perched at an altitude of 1850m in a traditional ski resort that links France and Italy, has been designed by Marielle and Nicholas Plummer to combine authenticity with the facilities of a luxury hotel. Following the launch of their debut chalets in Peisey-Vallandry and hotel in Belle Plagne, the couple used traditional materials of stone and timber as an alternative to concrete, to preserve the landscape of La Rosière.
Located close to Bourg Saint Maurice, the property comprises 47 guestrooms and 22 suites, including 12 family suites and 10 deluxe suites ranging from 58-76m2, offering panoramas of the Alps and views of the Tarentaise Valley. Elsewhere, Italian-style trattoria La Tavola and bistronomic restaurant H40 feature alongside the 420m2 Summit Spa, which offers a swimming pool and Jacuzzis.
Espace San Bernardo links itself to Italian neighbouring village La Thuile, opening a ski area of over 3,000 hectares. Straddling the French and Italian borders, the region offers skiers from both countries access to 160 kilometres of ski slopes, with an additional ten kilometres set to be added in 2018.
Launched in 2015 by Hyatt Hotels Corporation, the Hyatt Centric brand currently operates 15 hotels worldwide – each hotel is designed according to its location. Following openings in Chicago; New York; New Orleans; Waikiki; Miami; Santa Barbara; San Francisco; Istanbul; Guatemala City and La Rosière, further plans have been scheduled for Spain in December, as well as Peru and Chile in 2018.
