House of Gods Glasgow

House of Gods shares first glimpse of Glasgow site

Following a three-year renovation, House of Gods has revealed a first glimpse of its new Glasgow site, set to launch in January 2024 in the Merchant City district.

Occupying the corner of Glassford and Wilson Streets, the property will comprise six more rooms than its Edinburgh counterpart, including a new category with a four poster bed and golden bathtub, as well as two Presidential Suites on the hotel’s top floor. The latter’s elevated offering includes private cinemas, en suites kitted out with twin baths and his and hers shower room, and the option to occupy the whole floor if desired.

Much like its Edinburgh counterpart, bold interiors feature hand-painted 24 karat-gold embellished de Gournay wallpaper in the lobby bar, as well as a marble fountain crowning the rooftop bar. Guestrooms meanwhile boast custom cashmere blankets, bespoke cabinetry and marble-clad bathrooms. The spaces also include curated minibars and playful touches such as the ‘naughty light’.

On the top floor, a new Garden of Eden-inspired restaurant and bar serves an all-day menu of light bites, sharing plates and cocktails. The space will transform throughout the day, offering views across the city’s skyline. Downstairs meanwhile, the brand’s signature cocktail lounge will offer a casual dining menu during the day and will shift into a glamorous cocktail venue every evening.

CEO Mike Baxter comments: “We couldn’t be more excited about opening our Glasgow location. It’s a place where everyone knows how to have a great time – and we’re here to treat each and every guest like the rockstar they are. Creating the ultimate escape here has been our main priority. In addition to offering services like early check-in and late check-out as standard, we have worked alongside incredible artists and craftspeople to create a destination that celebrates true extravagance.

From working alongside Siobhan Mackenzie, who has designed our team’s uniforms, to creating a custom toile de jouy wallpaper designed by Gregory Lewis, who has previously worked with a multitude of key fashion brands including Chanel, Fendi and Christian Louboutin to name just a few, I can’t wait to welcome our first guests in just a few weeks.”
