Hotel de Len brings the science of sleep to the Dolomites

Hotel de Len – the first property in the mountains for Aldo Melpignano, owner of Apulian haven Borgo Egnazia – is a project based on the principles of sustainability and wellness, offering a contemporary sleep and regenerative experience deeply rooted in the territory.

Across the hotel’s 22 rooms and suites, the design scheme combines simple lines with plenty of pine, known for improving the quality of sleep, as well as old fir first patina – whose natural properties contribute to enhance the balance of body and mind. To avoid tampering with the natural scent of wood and affecting guests’ wellbeing, architects GrisDainese made conscious design choices to treat the wood either with non-chemical heath treatments or natural essential oils.

In addition, the property is a Swiss Optimal Living Society (SOLS) certified environment, with each room designed to create an optimal and entirely biocompatible sleep experience. As such, technologies such as Magma13, Orpheus and Astreo ensure a high quality of sleep and create harmonious energy environments.

The Magma13 Sleep Radiance Panel is an intelligent material created exclusively for SOLS that, in the form of a panel positioned at the base of each bed, expands and contracts based on mechanical, light or temperature stimuli, reorganising and restoring energy within the space guests are in to reconnect them with their surroundings.

Orpheus meanwhile is a network filter capable of capturing and shielding radiation – external and internal electromagnetic fields – from devices connected to it. And finally, Astreo is a specific tool for reducing high-frequency electro-toxicological disturbances, known as ‘Dirty Electricity’, unusable electromagnetic energy that has been connected to several disorders including asthma, ADD/ADHD, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia in biotechnology studies.

Guests can choose to start their regenerative journey following a day out in the mountains at the Hotel de Len spa, located on the top floor of the property. Available for private evening bookings, the spa offers signature treatments and facilities, including a steam bath, an ice fountain and a salt and Finnish sauna. Guests can also take in views of the town, its bell tower and moonlit peaks from the space.
