Hotel De Cambis arrives in Avignon
Hotel De Cambis has arrived in Avignon, a popular city in southeastern France’s Provence region. Designed by Julie Gauthron, the 41-room property features a vibrant, uplifting decor with reflective and transparent surfaces that speak the language of wine.
To adorn the guestrooms, Gauthron created original etchings on a wine theme as well as installing bespoke furniture. The accommodations come in three categories: Premier Cru, Grand Cru and Millésime (which means Vintage), while four different chromatic moods – from golden yellow to terracotta – give each its own individual character. The attention to detail extends to using brands such as Kartell for the hangers and Beauregard for the tiles, with furniture by Expormim adding a finishing touch to the unique ambiance.
On the Hotel De Cambis’ second floor, a buffet of sweet and savoury items by local producers is served in a space flooded with light that overlooks the streets below. The two adjoining rooms feature a lounge that can be turned into a private space for business meetings and a large room with the feel of a cosy café, in which guests can spend time during the day reading, working or simply enjoying a break with a hot drink.
