For the second of our hotel construction reports compiled with data from Tophotelprojects, we’re taking a look at the Miami pipeline, and the best new hospitality properties on the boards and slated to launch in the Sunshine State capital.

Currently with 39 hotels in the pipeline and a total of 9,389 guest rooms set to join the fray, Miami boasts one of the USA’s strongest city pipelines, and features a healthy mixture of styles, scales and sensibilities marked to join an already diverse market.

With recent years seeing an influx of new branded concepts by Wyndham, Kimpton and 1 Hotels as well as distinctive boutiques in Greystone Miami Beach and Life House, Miami has established itself as a major draw for guests and operators alike. New branded offers from Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Citizen M and Radisson will now seek to carve their place in the city, with a number of large-scale mixed-use developments and revitalised neighbourhoods welcoming a new wave of projects.

The latest gallery hotel concept from 21C Museum Hotels will land in Buena Vista in close proximity to the burgeoning Wynwood arts district, whilst the rising Brickell district will host projects from Citizen M and the multi-function Smart Brickell complex from Habitat Group – a three-phase lifestyle destination including a hotel, 170 condos and 30,000ft² of retail space. Elsewhere, new locations for Waldorf Astoria and Selina highlight the variety of offers ready to hit the market.

Although Florida is experiencing a spike of coronavirus cases following a controversial state response, the impact has not significantly disputed the pipeline of its largest market.
