Home Grown Hotels adds three new Pigs

Home Grown Hotels has announced new additions to its Pig Collection including The Pig at Bridge Place, The South Downs Pig and The Pig at Harlyn Bay.

A collection of small lifestyle restaurants with rooms, the Pig Group currently operates five hotels around the UK. Committed to home grown local produce, the concept emphasises kitchen gardens, seasonal fare and unique design personalities. All garden produce served is sourced from within a 25-mile radius.

Construction will soon begin on The Pig at Bridge Place, situated in the village of Bridge near Canterbury, with the project set to open in Autumn 2018. Meanwhile, In West Sussex, the Grade II-listed Madehurst Lodge will reopen as The South Downs Pig in 2019. Lastly, the Grade II-listed Harlyn House near Padstow in Cornwall will be reborn as The Pig at Harlyn Bay, also set to open in Summer 2019.

Formerly Bridge Place Country Club, The Pig At Bridge Place is a 16th century Jacobean manor house just outside the historic village of Bridge in the Nailbourne valley and three miles south of Canterbury. Featuring a red brick façade, large fireplaces and secret stairways, the project has also added a detailed Coach House to accommodate a further 12 guestrooms for a total of 28. The Coach House will offer a conservatory restaurant with open kitchen and views onto the kitchen gardens, as well as converted barn kitchen larder.

Robin Hutson, CEO of Home Grown Hotels, comments: “We’ve had a great couple of years, with customers apparently loving what we do. Occupancy is in the mid 90%’s in our rural locations and we know from our guests they want more Pigs. After searching far and wide for truly unique properties, we really are over the moon about our new Piglets in Kent, Sussex and Cornwall, and can’t wait to get started on this new phase of our development.”

The Pig team and its contractors will undertake all renovations, whilst designer Judy Hutson will oversee interiors.
