Holmes Hotel launches new events venue
Located on Chiltern Street in Marylebone, Holmes Hotel London has unveiled The Residence – a new self-contained events space designed around the ethos and etiquette of the historic townhouses above.
Channelling the decadence of the neighbourhood’s famous fictional resident, the venue comprises five unique rooms: The Pantry, The Billiard Room, The Laboratory, The Conservatory and The Cellar, which accommodate up to 130 guests when hired together for exclusive use, or up to 20 when booked on an individual basis.
It’s design by Zopsigog sees artfully positioned antiques, curiosities and artefacts combined with an alluring colour palette and luxury furnishings that reflect the mystery of the central London enclave it calls home.
Slotted seamlessly into each space are all the essentials required for a successful meeting. Each is equipped with full AV capabilities such as hidden interactive LCD screens, web cams, Wi-Fi and even floor-to-ceiling whiteboards ready to capture creative thoughts. Two additional spaces – The Library and the Telegraph Room – are shaped with charming details and act as hideaways for private moments or discrete phone calls.
The Pantry sits at the heart of the venue, offering delegates snacks and refreshments throughout their event, with a premium wine fridge and both still and sparkling water on tap. Suitable for use as a reception room to greet guests or a breakout space, it can also play host to cookery lessons and cocktail masterclasses.
Elsewhere, a large skylight in The Conservatory allows natural daylight to flow in from above, helping to boost delegates’ productivity throughout the day. Once meetings are over, guests can head for some downtime in The Billiards Room, which features wallpaper depicting extinct animals, a drinks cabinet filled with brandy and whisky, and a unique antique wooden table that can be transformed to play pool or snooker.
After a busy day, residents can get some fresh air at a Secret Roof Terrace complete with outdoor heaters and tables, or simply hunker down for the night in one of its 118 rooms, which mirror the look and feel of The Residence. The hotel’s existing meeting and events facilities also allow it to cater for multi-functional events, providing space for an additional 80 guests, with a number of entrances for added privacy and flexibility.
“We are delighted to reveal The Residence, a project some years in the making that has exceeded all our expectations. It is an incredible extension to our existing offer that truly speaks for itself – gone are plain boardrooms and open halls, we’ve introduced a space like no other,” says General Manager Jennifer McCabe.
“Through the clever and creative use of design, integrating essential business tools into the fabric of the venue – such as the write-on walls in the Laboratory – we have created an engaging and inspiring space for everyone who visits, and can’t wait to work with clients to ensure their meeting or event is a success.”
