Hilton set for Saudi Arabian mixed-use development The Point
A new Canopy by Hilton hotel will open its doors in Saudi Arabia, part of mixed-use destination The Point.
Nestled in the region of Abha, The Point is expected to open to the public by summer 2026. Red Sea Markets has partnered with DLR Group to spearhead the development, which will span approximately 20 acres and comprise 59,000m² of retail, F&B and entertainment facilities, as well as the new Canopy by Hilton and a Hilton Residences.
“DLR Group’s design celebrates a contemporary indoor-outdoor experience elevating boutique retail, vibrant street shopping, lifestyle-focused dining and hospitality with entertainment uses,” said Scott Pryde, Principal and Middle East Design Director at DLR Group, which is behind the planning, project management, architecture and interior design of The Point. “By embracing the city’s identity, The Point seamlessly intertwines tradition with the contemporary aspects of modern living, fostering an atmosphere that radiates with energy, promising an unforgettable journey for all who cross its threshold.”
Drawing inspiration from its surroundings, the new 150-key Hilton hotel spans 14,000m², showcasing a rich, warm colour palette, unique art, dynamic patterns and natural materials throughout. Guestrooms are set to capture the essence of the surrounding mountainous landscape, layering textures and colours. The hotel will also comprise a ballroom, meeting rooms, boardrooms and lounge.
Adjacent to Canopy by Hilton The Point is the new Hilton The Point Residences, featuring apartments for extended-stay guests. Shared amenities between the two properties include an indoor pool, fitness centre and multiple dining experiences.
Vaida Buchrotaite, Principal and Middle East Interior Design Director at DLR Group, comments: “The Aseer region is rich with culture, inspiration and never-ending discoveries, so harnessing this resource and turning it into this lively destination has been an unforgettable experience.
“In close collaboration with Hilton, we delivered a playful and bold lifestyle destination for Canopy and more of a refined experience for the Residences. Each motif, material and texture were carefully selected by the team to both reflect and honour the region, with custom patterns added to key touch points to celebrate rich cultural roots of human crafts.”
