Hilton London Bankside launches new Penthouse suite
The Hilton Group has announced the launch of a new design suite at Hilton London Bankside.
Created in partnership with London-based architect and interior designer Dexter Moren Associates and interior design practice twenty2degrees, the Penthouse Suite features innovative design with a contemporary context.
Reflecting the history of Bankside and echoing the urban character of the area, the Penthouse, which has the look and feel of an elegant and spacious city apartment, is filled with contemporary art and provides views of Tate Modern and The Shard.
The one-guestroom Penthouse suite exhibits bespoke furnishings, artwork and dark oak Parquet floors. The suite includes a large living area complete with a comfortable sofa and chairs, upholstered in blue and grey velvet respectively. Meanwhile, natural light, due to the floor-to-ceiling windows that cover over half the room, works to illuminate the suite.
The central focus of the living area is a large statement black and white photograph by Alexander Khokhlov that covers the interior wall of the suite.
The Penthouse displays an individual art collection and was curated by Peter Millard and Partners Ltd, who sought to complement the industrial and urban theme of the property as well as the polished contemporary design of the suite.
The kitchen and dining area is furnished with Smeg kitchen appliances, coffee machine and a generously stocked fridge, while Northern Lights exhibit a bespoke light fixture above the dining table.
The guestroom has its own distinct style with copper coloured soft furnishings and Designers Guild fabric used on the cushions dotted around the room while the TV standing on the easel reflects the Bankside passion for art and design. The bed, flanked by hanging decorative lights by Curiousa & Couriosa, faces a floor-to-ceiling window allowing for an enhanced coverage of natural light. Through a series of sliding panels above the bed, the light filters through to the en-suite bathroom that is made entirely from Statuario marble.
The bathroom includes a standalone bath tub, his and hers sinks, separate lavatory and large shower area. Meanwhile, the walk-in wardrobe provides full-length cupboards, and beautifully lined shelves.
The Penthouse includes a 30m2 private roof terrace that overlooks the Tate Modern and the hotel’s own rooftop, Meadow. The Meadow demonstrates Hilton group’s commitment to integrating green areas within Bankside, and features a variety of wild flowers and plants including its very own beehives. Alternatively, The Terrace provides a spacious suntrap and relaxation area with an abundance of outdoor furniture.
A unique property, beautifully designed to represent the city’s historical past and urban environment, Hilton London Bankside is a flagship hotel for Hilton and the benchmark for future hotels from the brand.
