Hilton launches Tallinn flagship
Hilton has announced the opening of its first flagship property in Northeastern Europe, Hilton Tallinn Park in Estonia, a 202-key hotel designed by Finnish interior architect studio dSign Vertti Kivi & Co.
Located in close proximity to the heart of Tallinn’s historic Old Town, the property offers panoramic views of the city and the Baltic Sea and a restaurant with an open kitchen, in addition to a spa, grand ballroom, ten meeting rooms, and a 1,600m² onsite casino. Development began in 2012, and lead interior architect Vertti Kivi estimates that his agency spent over 10,000 hours designing it.
Some of the hotel’s 27 suites feature a private sauna and guests choosing to stay at the presidential suite will be in the largest the city has to offer at 180m². The hotel also offers guests a convenient base from which to explore city landmarks including the open-air museum, Kadriorg Park and the medieval markets, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Vertti Kivi comments: “Nowadays customers seem to expect new experiences and a bit of fantasy, even from chain hotels. Some customers stay in hotels only to test the latest design trends or to look for decoration ideas for their own homes and this is what makes designing a hotel even more interesting than before”
The hotel’s colour scheme features tones of black, gold and beige and clever lighting solutions illuminating luxurious material choices. Several unique design elements including a striking lobby lighting installation and a curved reception desk further contribute to the distinctive aesthetic of the project.
DSign have numerous projects in the pipeline following the opening of Hilton Tallinn Park, including the Tallink Megastar shuttle and the restaurant portion of the T1 Shopping Centre.
