Georgia’s Barnsley Resort refreshes accommodation offer

Barnsley Resort, a 3,000-acre multi-use destination in Georgia, has unveiled its renovated accommodation offer.

The $6.2 million remodel, executed by local studio Charlotte Lucas Design, spans 39 free-standing cottages, including 84 guestrooms and suites.

Maintaining the welcoming character of the cottage whilst also incorporating a fresh appeal, Lucas has introduced an elevated sense of Southern hospitality. The new aesthetic focuses on blending bold patterns with soft details, all inspired by a heritage colour palette and the flora and fauna of the Southern region.

Headboards and bed skirts feature warm plaids and stripes complemented by soft neutrals and textured walls, while accent wallcoverings and floor-to-ceiling draperies of subdued florals and sporting dog scenes provide pops of colour, bringing the natural landscape and the resort’s wider themes indoors. New wooden nightstands and painted dressers meanwhile feature against colourful, patterned area rugs. Accessories such as artwork influenced by the resort’s offerings, rattan sconces, vintage-inspired lanterns and other mixed-metal finishes blend seamlessly to feel as if they have been organically collected over time.

Bathrooms are elevated with wooden vanities, paired with checkered tile floors and updated plumbing and lighting to enhance the guest experience.

To establish a harmonious aesthetic across the wider resort, cottage facades have also received a new colour palette. Exterior accents, trims and siding now embrace nature-inspired hue, including shades of Dried Thyme, Sage, Roycroft Bronze Green, Alabaster, Shell White, Toque White and Charwood-stained patios and doors.
