Generator opens in Stockholm
Hostel brand Generator has opened its first property in Sweden, located close to Stockholm’s city centre, and adjacent to the thriving technology hub at Torsgatan 10.
Designed by Toronto-based interior design firm DesignAgency, the property will feature 233-guestrooms, 796 beds, a restaurant, bar and extensive social spaces. The experience led hostel will embrace the city’s growing creative scene, and offer lively communal areas that integrate food, art, music, design and performances from local artists. With a design scheme incorporating vibrant spaces, micro-chic accommodations and local flare, Generator Stockholm aims to reflect the culture and aesthetics of the city, and offer modern travellers a uniquely social hospitality experience.
Accommodation options include suites, premium private rooms, and shared hostel lodging, all with en-suite bathrooms. The hostel will also feature a 24-hour lobby and an events space that will work with the neighbourhood’s commercial scene to host events including the GenTalks series.
“I am delighted to bring Generator’s leading edge concept to my home country of Sweden with an amazing location in Stockholm,” comments Fredrik Korallus, Chief Executive Officer of Generator. “With this property we are introducing a unique shared accommodation lifestyle experience to the capital. We look forward to having Generator Stockholm come to life as a place where global and local connects.”
Head chef David Gard will head up the hostel’s cuisine programme, which will see a café and bar serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, whilst a standalone restaurant will offer contemporary global street food with a Scandinavian touch. On the floor above, Generator will provide convertible working spaces, fitted with both power and data points.
Generator Stockholm General Manager, Alexander Bhatt, concludes: “The combination of affordable accommodation, innovative design and vibrant social spaces is something that there is just not enough of in Stockholm and it will be a pleasure to lead our talented team to further success Generator.”
