Four Seasons sets opening date for Brazil debut
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced that it will open the reservation books for Four Seasons Hotel São Paulo at Nações Unidas, its first hotel in Brazil, beginning 15 October. Located amid the leafy green spaces along the Pinheiros River in southern Sao Paulo, the 29-storey tower will include the 258-key hotel as well as 84 Four Seasons Private Residences, a series of restaurants and several flexible meeting rooms.
Designed by HKS Architects in partnership with Aflalo e Gasperini Arquitetos, and with interiors such as guestrooms, lobby lounge and public spaces by San Francisco-based Bamo, the scheme is billed as “bold and evocative modern,” with “an international luxury aesthetic rendered in Brazilian materials and infused with classic Paulistano flavour.” Featuring a programme of art including pieces from Burle Marx, Francisco Brennand and Paulo Mendes da Rocha, among others, the work complements interiors characterised by locally-sourced finishes.
“As the first Four Seasons in Brazil, our team is especially excited to introduce the customised experiences and personalised service for which the company is known around the world,” says General Manager Michael Schmid. “Although many Brazilians who travel internationally are very familiar with the Four Seasons experience, the opportunity to offer something uniquely tailored to this city and connect with its citizens is important for us.”
Leading the hotel’s culinary team is Executive Chef Paolo Lavezzini, an Italian native responsible for bringing to life the project’s signature restaurant concept, Neto, a venue inspired by the city’s large immigrant population and offering a Brazilian spin on traditional Italian cuisine in a space envisioned by EDG. Lavezzini will also oversee menus for the hotel’s lobby botequim Caju SP, in-room dining, and catering operations.
For meetings, events and ceremonies, the hotel features 1,409m² of flexible space – also designed by EDG – including a grand ballroom and two outdoor terraces. Elsewhere, the surrounding urban space will include enclosed and landscaped grounds, a Bamo-designed spa and fitness centre, and an indoor-outdoor pool.
Hotel São Paulo at Nações Unidas marks the first Four Seasons location in Brazil, joining sister properties in Bogota, Buenos Aires and Costa Rica as part of the company’s growing Central and South American portfolio.
