Flemings Mayfair details renovations
Michelin-starred chef Shaun Rankin will open his new restaurant in Flemings Mayfair in September 2016, as part of the hotel’s £14 million renovations.
The 85-cover Ormer Mayfair, which Rankin will run alongside his Ormer establishment in Jersey, will take inspiration from the cuisine of the St Helier shores. Created by Tully Filmer Interior Design, the restaurant will incorporate dark wood paneling, British racing green leather and velvet banquette seating, complemented by bronze highlights, to create an Art-Deco inspired space.
Two private dining rooms that will seat 20 guests each, a 40-seat bar and the restaurant’s own Clarges Street entrance will follow in the autumn.
Serving up English heritage food with a Mayfair twist, the restaurant will bring together foraged herbs, English wines and seasonal produce for dishes including hand-dived scallops and Jersey lobster ravioli in a crab and lemongrass bisque.
