The Newman Guestroom

First Look: The Newman

The Newman, the first hotel from Kinsfolk & Co, will open its doors in 2024 on its namesake Newman Street in Fitzrovia.

The London hotel is being brought to life by a team of hoteliers and restaurateurs, whose joint expertise spans projects including The Standard, The Beaumont and The Goring, and will comprise 81 rooms and suites, a European brasserie and cocktail bar, as well as a wellness floor.

Designed by Pernille Lind and Richy Almond of Lind + Almond, the hotel’s aesthetic nods to iconic characters from the area, including Nancy Cunard, once Fitzrovia’s bohemian queen, whose signature bangles and polka dots subtly permeate the design narrative.

Guestrooms, suites and apartment – some with private balconies – showcase a contemporary Art Deco aesthetic. The rooftop floor comprises a signature suite with a private terrace and, when taken as a whole, can be used exclusively as a four-bedroom suite.

The hotel’s modern European brasserie, seating 120 guests, is bathed in natural light and includes a separate street entrance, along with an outdoor terrace and a menu prioritising seasonal British ingredients. On the lower ground floor is a cocktail bar, as well as two private dining rooms.

The spa at The Newman meanwhile embraces Nordic simplicity. A whole floor dedicated to luxury wellness, the space includes a range of hot and cold experience cabins, an active salt therapy room and a hydrotherapy pool. For residents and locals, the day spa offers treatment rooms and fitness services including yoga, personal training, a meditation studio and a gymnasium.

Paul Brackley, founder & CEO of Kinsfolk & Co said: “We are delighted to announce The Newman as our first hotel, here in Fitzrovia, where Kinsfolk & Co began. The Newman will be a grown-up and elevated but fun experience, where people can enjoy thoughtful excellence across design, service, food, and wellness – all sewn seamlessly into Fitzrovian life.”
