First Look: La Roqqa, Porto Ercole
La Roqqa, a new project by Palomba Serafini Studio, is set for a summer 2023 opening in Porto Ercole. The new development will see Ludovica and Roberto Palomba bring their holistic designs to Monte Argentario.
Located on the promontory of Forte, La Roqqa offers guests views of the sea and the hills of Maremma. The holistic design approach taken by Palomba Serafini Studio sees the property forming a silent dialogue with the landscape, with details designed to form a comprehensive and almost orchestral vision. As such, a key facet of the new property’s design will be a deep connection with nature.
“All the spaces of La Roqqa, from the common areas to the 55 rooms and suites, convey an immediate sense of belonging. In fact, the entire analysis of the territory’s values has become the backbone of the entire interior design project and is expressed in all its colours and materiality,” explain Ludovica and Roberta Palomba, of Palomba Serafini Studio. “The tones of the sky, sand and Mediterranean scrub are found inside the project as tonalities of the walls, floor, plaster and furniture, creating a strong connection with the surrounding environment. In response to the precise request of the client, we have designed the regeneration of the building and the guest experience that will live in those spaces.”
From the exterior grounds to the interior design, the aim of the new opening will be to link it closely to its location, creating sustainable “zero kilometre” architecture that embraces both guests and the surrounding environment. The studio’s designs see all elements of the property integrating seamlessly with its exteriors, in a move intended to create a space of calm and wellbeing for guests.
