Firmdale reveals The Whitby Hotel
Firmdale Hotels will open The Whitby Hotel in February 2017, marking its second New York property.
Firmdale Hotels Owner and Design Director Kit Kemp will produce the interiors in her luxurious contemporary style. A vibrant mix of colour, pattern, texture and art, each guestroom will feature its own individual colour scheme, while bathrooms will be finished in marble or granite.
The hotel will comprise 86 individually designed guestrooms and suites over 16 floors, all with floor-to-ceiling windows and many with private terraces. The entire top floor will be dedicated to The Whitby Suite, a two-bedroom headline suite with spacious furnished terraces facing uptown and downtown.
Additional facilities will include The Whitby Bar, a drawing room, orangery and courtyard, as well as several stylish private event rooms and a 130-seat state-of-the-art cinema.
The privately owned brand’s portfolio currently comprises nine luxury hotels in central London and New York. The opening of The Whitby Hotel follows the 2009 opening of the Crosby Street Hotel in New York’s SoHo district, and the 2014 launch of The Ham Yard Hotel in London.
