Fairmont launches new flagship in Morocco

Fairmont has opened a new flagship in the Moroccan capital of Rabat, Fairmont La Marina Rabat Salé, which takes its portfolio to over 80 properties.

Designed by Foster & Partners in collaboration with Moroccan architect Abdelouahed Mountassir, the property’s exterior replicates a cruise liner and makes a firm architectural mark on the banks of the Bou Regreg River.

The hotel comprises 186 rooms, including 27 suites and 88 residences. Highlighting the ancestral traditions of Morocco, its design combines authentic Moroccan craftsmanship and modern design elements, with each room paying homage to influences that have marked the Kingdom over the centuries.

Amongst the F&B offering are three restaurants, as well as a bar that overlooks a green orangery, reinterpreting the outdoor gardens of antique Moroccan dwellings. Each dining venue is a nod to an element of Moroccan culture or history – authentic Moroccan dining takes place at Le Dahlia, for instance, while a French brasserie concept comes to life at L’Ecume.

Le Deck on the other hand offers cuisine inspired by Nikkei influences, alongside a 360° panoramic view of the estuary. The rooftop restaurant is also equipped with an avant-garde bar and a year-round heated swimming pool. Finally, La Verrière functions as a lounge and tearoom – a contemporary version of the light-drenched patios of the Moroccan ancestral riads.

As for additional facilities, the site’s spa comprises ten treatment rooms, including a VIP Spa suite with an authentic hammam room, and exclusive amenities from Natura Bissé and Maison d’Asa. In synergy with the spa is a gym accompanied by a heated pool. Meeting and board rooms, including a VIP majlis and a ballroom, round out the offering.
