Ennismore’s Delano lands in Dubai
Ennismore has announced the opening of Delano Dubai, set on the shores of lifestyle destination Bluewaters Dubai.
Comprising 251 guestrooms – including 84 suites – the property has been envisioned by Elastic Architects, SA Consultants, La Bottega Interiors and YDesign, in collaboration with Ennismore’s in-house design team. Interiors embody and provide a new take on the distinctive feel of the original Miami outpost.
A discreet entrance framed by manicured greenery evokes a South Beach feel, and guests are swept into the resort through a veil of white curtains that will be instantly familiar to Delano Miami regulars. Upon entry, the apparent simplicity of the bright, light-filled public areas unfurl into a layered, tactile aesthetic informed by a soft minimalism crafted through brand’s design signatures. In the lobby, a reflective art piece by Hussain Jamil speaks to fluidity and movement, while the interplay between dark and light is explored through architectural lighting and the juxtaposition of the crisp ‘Delano White’ walls with dark wide-board timber flooring.
The dark to light motif continues through to the private guest areas, as softly lit monochrome corridors lead guests into spacious rooms and suites streaming with natural daylight, captured in room names like Rising Light and Waking Eclipse. The design of each room is guided by a chic, tonal palette and embraces fluidity in soft, curved silhouettes and rich textures. White oak flooring is dotted with custom wool rugs, while beds are framed by fluted, oversized headboards and cocoon-like clusters of textured boucle sofas and chairs in the living areas of the suites.
Six F&B venues sit at the hotel’s heart, while other amenities include the Delano Pool, fringed by billowing umbrellas and sunken furniture in the shallows; a wellness studio crafted in collaboration with Adrienne Everett; and a gym.
