Elewana launching new collection of safari lodges
Elewana has launched Explorer by Elewana, a collection of luxe safari lodges in East Africa.
The first lodge, Serengeti Explorer, is scheduled to open in March 2024. Ngorongoro Explorer will follow later that year, with Tarangire Explorer slated for 2025.
Sat high up on the Nyaboro Hills, Serengeti Explorer comprises 68 rooms and six suites, all with private balconies. Dining options will include Boma restaurant, offering a bush dinner of signature African and Swahili cuisine. In addition, a main restaurant, poolside bistro, bar, deli and coffee shop will serve up an array of dishes celebrating farm-to-table culture.
African culture will be a central theme of Serengeti Explorer, with an art gallery showcasing local talent and local crafts available for purchase in an on-site retail centre. A children’s bushcraft centre will cater to families, whilst an outdoor cinema will show African film classics as well as contemporary releases. A stargazing deck with an on-site astronomy guide will allow guests to enjoy a galactic night safari.
“The launch of Explorer by Elewana marks an exciting milestone for our group,” says Karim Wissanji, Elewana‘s Group Chairman and CEO. “This upscale safari lodge concept, set in the renowned wildlife-rich regions of Northern Tanzania, fills a unique niche by targeting the needs and price point of the mid-market safari guest.”
