Drift Palm Springs to debut in early 2023
Drift Palm Springs is set to join TMC Hospitality’s brand portfolio in early 2023 in the heart of downtown Palm Springs.
Designed in partnership with o2 Architecture and Folklor, the 30-key boutique hotel will feature forms and colours reflective of the Californian desert and the brand’s Baja roots, coupling Spanish Colonial and Moorish Desert architecture with organic interior accents and Mexican artisanal décor. Raw materials including steel, Italian brick and cedar wood are set to create an industrial and modern aesthetic, with a clean palette allowing the eye to explore the handpicked design elements by Californian and Mexican artists.
The hotel will also be home to Maleza, an upscale Baja-inspired restaurant operated in collaboration with Jorge Espindola and Cesar Pita of San Jose del Cabo-based Roots & Roads. Here, groups can enjoy Drift wines, beers and mezcals in partnership with Miller Family Vineyards, La Luna Mezcal and Baja Brewing, each of which pair well with the seasonal coastal fare.
Additional highlights include spacious suites with two to four bedrooms and kitchens; a resort-style pool home to cabanas, San Jacinto Mountain views and Drift Pool Bar; a yoga studio; and complimentary bikes in the lobby.
In anticipation of locals and guests gathering together, Drift is adding an open-air event space that will host supper clubs and mezcal tastings, surrounded by a wall of cacti for added privacy. For a more intimate occasion, residents can prepare meals in-room, sourcing products from the Drift Pantry, a curated in-room marketplace stocked with locally sourced items, as well as an ample wine and beer selection.
Drift Palm Springs is TMC Hospitality’s third hotel under the Drift moniker, a design-forward brand geared towards the adventurous traveller. The property follows Drift San Jose Del Cabo’s arrival in November 2021 and the upcoming opening of Drift Santa Barbara, slated for January 2023.
