DoubleTree Hilton debuts in France

The medieval city of Carcassonne has welcomed France’s first DoubleTree by Hilton, adding to the nine other Hilton properties in the country. Located on the banks of the Aude River, DoubleTree by Hilton Carcassonne is characterised by a medieval-inspired design, and features stained glass windows and a greenery filled exterior.

Owned and operated by Group Soleil Vacances, the 88-key hotel comprises 33 deluxe town-facing guestrooms, as well as 14 junior suites and three one-bedroom suites with private terraces overlooking the fortified site. Elsewhere, a spa complete with private treatment cabins, a sauna and hammam accompanies an indoor pool and fitness centre, while 60m2 of meeting space and gardens capture panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

“We are delighted to bring the DoubleTree by Hilton experience to the beautiful city of Carcassonne. Guests will feel right at home in the heart of one of France’s most fascinating medieval towns,” says General Manager Sandrine Kaiser. “From enjoying a cruise along the Canal du Midi to visiting the Languedoc vineyards, a host of experiences await just minutes away from the hotel. After exploring the city, guests can take comfort in our spacious guestrooms, enjoy town-facing views from our garden and terrace, or indulge in a relaxing spa treatment.”

DoubleTree by Hilton Carcassonne is located within 100-metres’ walk of the city and a five-kilometre drive to Carcassonne Airport, while the nearby convention centre and train station are a 50-metre walk and 3-kilometre drive respectively.

The city of Carcassonne is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its stout walls, Gothic cathedrals, medieval castles, and vineyards. Every year, the Cité Médiévale attracts more than four million visitors, who travel to experience its historic charm.
