Domes Resorts launches new hotel brand
Domes Resorts & Reserves has unveiled its new brand Domes Aulus, which joins its expanding portfolio with two new properties launching later this summer – Domes Aulus Elounda in Crete and Domes Aulus Zante.
“We have reimagined a sophisticated, understated luxury and laid back approach to all-inclusive, and instead created the Cool Inclusive,” says Deputy Commercial Director Manos Vatzolas of the brand, which takes its name from the ancient city name of Elounda. “Domes Aulus forms a new style of travel – slow paced, eco-conscious, with an unpretentious style of living for our guests who seek spiritual stimulation and ecological immersion, whilst also enjoying the culinary and wellness offerings at our new hotels during their stay.”
Domes Aulus Elounda is set to open this July as an adults-only resort following an extensive renovation. The inspiration derives from the surrounding topography and tones of the landscape, and sees the property refreshed with a soothing palette of grey and beige textured surfaces, splashed with Aegean blue textiles.
Guestrooms include garden or sea view Nests and Suites, or Cool Living Selection accommodation for those seeking a hotel-within-a-hotel, with 24/7 concierge service and access to the Cool Living Club. The accommodation tier also features private terraces and pool with views of the Cretan Gardens or Elounda Bay.
Comprising a private beach, two cliffside swimming pools and pool bars, and Domes’ Soma Spa and Gym, as well as range of culinary experiences, a marketplace with open-air boutique shops and a cinema, Domes Aulus Elounda immerses guests in the surroundings whilst allowing them to indulge in its luxurious services.
Sitting in a protected turtle sanctuary on Zante’s longest beach yet also just 5km away from Zakynthos Airport, Domes Aulūs Zante will also open in July as the second Domes Aulūs property. Set among 230 acres of white-sand pine forest, it is an adventure and exploration-lover’s resort for friends and families to disconnect from the rest of the world, and soak up Crete’s iconic landscape and charming local community.
The hotel boasts spacious accommodation and private terraces, some sleeping up to six people, all with earthy-toned interiors, warm wood textures and rattan weaves inspired by the natural scenery. This is accompanied by the hotel’s soulful service, epicurean experiences and a sandy beach with a beach bar.
The resorts connect with and support their destinations with activities including cleaning excursions, recycling, sustainability initiatives and co-operations with NGOs, while guests are also invited to actively get involved with voluntary experiences such as the protection of Caretta Caretta sea turtles. To heighten the connection to the locale, visitors can explore the culinary and ecological origins of the cuisine and wine served at the hotels, tracing the produce back to the community, botanical gardens, farmers and fishermen.
