Construction begins on Conrad D.C
Conrad Hotels & Resorts, real estate firm Hines and Muriel Bowser, Mayor of Washington D.C, have confirmed that construction has begun on Conrad Washington, D.C. at the mixed-use development CityCenterDC.
The 360-room luxury hotel, designed by Herzog & de Meuron and featuring interiors by Rottet Studio, will feature 30,000ft2 of ground floor retail space, with initial occupancy expected in Q1 2019. Conrad has also announced the appointment of Bryan Voltaggio as the property’s signature chef; with Voltaggio and business partner Hilda Staples responsible for both the programme’s concept and menu.
“Conrad is known for creating inspired experiences for our guests in gateway cities and the most sought-after destinations,” comments John Vanderslice, Global Head of Luxury & Lifestyle Brands, Hilton Worldwide. “Washington, D.C. is one of the few epicentres of political, cultural and economic power in the world, which makes this future hotel the perfect destination for global luxury travellers. We look forward to working with Hines and Qatari Diar introducing Conrad Washington, D.C. to the nation’s capital.”
The Conrad Washington, D.C. marks the seventh building developed by Hines at CityCenterDC, and will feature alongside a mixture of local, national and international retail brands, cafes and restaurants.
