Conrad announces Makkah property
Conrad Hotels & Resorts has unveiled Conrad Makkah, a new luxury property in the heart of the Makkah region of Saudi Arabia.
The property will be located in the centre of the Holy City, overlooking the Sacred Mosque, Al Masjid al Haram, and the Holy Kaabah. The 438-room hotel will offer a variety of services and facilities, including all-day dining at the onsite restaurants, a full time concierge, a business centre and both direct and audio access to Al-Haram during peak prayer times.
John T.A. Vanderslice, Global Head of Conrad Hotels and Resorts, states, “Conrad creates inspired experiences for our guests in some of the world’s most sought-after destinations. We are delighted to open our first luxury hotel in the Holy City and begin welcoming pilgrims and guests.”
Conrad Makkah will feature rooms ranging from 56m2 to the 247m2 royal suite containing separate living and dining areas and a private butler service. The hotel’s interior design is inspired by both modern and traditional Islamic aesthetics and complemented by contemporary art works.
The on-site restaurants will include Prime, an open-kitchen steakhouse, and the Al Mearaj, which will serve up everything from local favourites to international classics.
Conrad Makkah is designed for today’s smart luxury traveller, combining intuitive service with sophisticated, locally inspired surroundings. It will mark Conrad Hotels & Resort’s first hotel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
