Conrad Guangzhou welcomes first guests
Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton’s smart luxury brand, has announced the opening of Conrad Guangzhou, the seventh Conrad property to debut in Greater China.
Created as a stylish urban oasis in the heart of CBD Zhujiang New Town, the 309-key property features panoramic river views, three signature restaurants, a lounge and bar designed by Andre Fu, as well as a fitness centre, swimming pool and spa.
“We are thrilled to introduce smart luxury to the Guangdong Province,” comments Jin Qian, Area President, Greater China & Mongolia, Hilton. “As the 31st hotel in the global Conrad portfolio, Conrad Guangzhou reinvents the luxury hotel landscape in the region and provides today’s travellers with a stylish way of exploring the world around them. Through inspiring design, intuitive amenities and services, and the opportunity for authentic connections to their destination, Conrad delivers a more inspired experience every time.”
Spread across a 27-storey tower overlooking the Pearl River, the hotel comes as part of a new multi-use complex comprising shopping, entertainment and public art facilities. Popular local landmarks include the Guangdong Museum, Guangzhou Opera House and Canton Tower, with the hotel benefiting from strong transport links to the wider city.
Starting at 48m², guestrooms feature walk-in closets, flat screen TVs, WiFi and wired internet access, Nespresso coffee machines, and a shoe dryer. Elsewhere, the hotel’s F&B programme features the aforementioned AB Concept designed lounge and bar, which reinterprets traditional ideas through a playful lens, whilst Yun Pavilion, headed up by Chef Tan, serves up traditional Cantonese fare.
Sense is Conrad Guangzhou’s all-day restaurant, offering a menu of international favourites served buffet style, and Aroma, open for lunch and dinner features a seasonally-inspired menu of Mediterranean dishes.
Happy hour cocktails and afternoon tea are served at Gem, a stylish ground-floor lounge adjacent to the art park, whilst sister bar Mg offers a range of drinks and light bites.
Suitable for business travellers and conferences as well as corporate events or weddings, the hotel is a short walk to the corporate district, or for those who wish to work from their hotel the Executive Lounge offers complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and soft drinks throughout the day.
With over 1,800m² of flexible meeting space, Conrad Guangzhou can accommodate event groups of up to 1,000 guests, and offers state-of-the-art audio-visual technology including extra-large LED screens.
“Conrad Guangzhou perfectly reflects the city’s character – rich in tradition and culture, yet stands true to the brand in its smart luxury ethos,” explains John T. A. Vanderslice, Global Head, Conrad Hotels & Resorts. “We’re excited to open our seventh Conrad hotel in China, welcoming global luxury travellers with worldly style and flawless service.”
