Como Group heads to the Dolomites
Como Group is set to arrive in Northern Italy’s South Tyrol in December 2023 with the opening of Como Alpina Dolomites, a 60-key resort that marks the brand’s fifth European venture and its eighteenth property worldwide.
Situated amongst the majestic Dolomites, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site, the resort is located in Val Gardena on the Alpe di Siusi, one of Europe’s largest high-altitude plateaus and the jewel in the Dolomiti Superski circuit.
In keeping with the surroundings, the design features natural materials that emulate the movements of the terrain and mountains; the facade for instance has been constructed using original quartzite natural stone while the roof is embraced by a wooden structure.
The resort also champions local and regional products, with dining options including an Alpina chalet in the fresh mountain air, as well as the intimate mountain restaurant dedicated to the art of healthful dining by Como Shambhala Cuisine. Elsewhere, the relaxing lobby lounge serves drinks and small bites as well as a complimentary afternoon tea each afternoon.
Holistic wellness is one the core pillars of the Como’s properties and Como Alpina Dolomites is no exception. Como Shambhala Retreat offers an expansive wellness programme that includes a 22m indoor pool, a 7m panoramic outdoor pool, sauna, relaxation zones, a fitness centre and a beauty sanctuary. The focus remains on revitalisation and rejuvenation, ensuring that guests return from their stay feeling refreshed and renewed.
