Château des Fleurs Lounge

Château des Fleurs opens on the Champs-Elysées

Boutique hotel Château des Fleurs, part of Relais & Châteaux, has opened its doors at the top of the Champs-Elysées.

Set in a building constructed in 1910, the hotel’s design is courtesy of Barcelona-based design firm Quintana Partners. Envisioned as a tribute to the sparkling joie de vivre of the Belle Époque, the hotel showcases Neo-Art Nouveau décor across 37 guestrooms, a bar-restaurant, and a gym and spa.

In the lobby, sunlight streams through large windows, bouncing off textured wood walls. Next to the reception, a square-shaped bar in veined marble and dark wood with brass shelving is accompanied by velvet bench seating, contrasting red floor tiles, bespoke Murano glass chandeliers and an array of antique furniture. In the lounge, the antique-style touches continue, from fringed armchairs and wooden bookshelves, to Persian carpets and a fireplace adorned with brass that nods to the work of Belgian designer Victor Horta.

Château des Fleurs Guestroom

In the hallways on all five floors, wooden doors leading into guestrooms reject the rigor of straight lines in favour of sinuous curves that evoke the style of Antoni Gaudí, Catalan eulogist of Art Nouveau. Inside rooms, gentle lines, rounded bedheads, bedside tables and ceiling reliefs are paired with opaque-panelled wardrobes and Murano glass lamps designed by Quintana Partners. Naturally, references to the French capital are also dotted throughout the space, from cable pattern carpeting to Parisian-style shutters, with window boxes filled with flowers.

In the gym, Quintana Partners has opted for cork flooring, wooden furnishings and graphic tiles in red and black, while lighting adopts a distinctive Art Nouveau style, unearthed in antique stores by the architectural firm. On the same floor as the gym is the spa, developed in partnership with Omnisens.

Expanding the portfolio even further, Relais & Châteaux is set to open three more hotels in Paris by 2025.
