Chablé Hotels to expand Mexican portfolio
Chablé Hotels will expand its Mexican portfolio with the addition of Casa Chablé in early 2022. Located south of Tulum in the Sian Ka’an biosphere, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 10-key retreat is surrounded by 12 acres of tropical jungle and fronted by white sand beaches, offering guests a true immersion into nature.
The adventure begins at the entrance to the biosphere, where visitors hop aboard a private boat for a 35-minute ride through mangrove forests before reaching the resort’s private dock. There, they enter the world of Casa Chablé, an islet featuring five standalone beachfront bungalows with outdoor showers, and a main villa housing five suites, each with their own private terrace. Interior designer Paulina Moran has remodelled the property with the vision of maintaining a strong relationship between nature, comfort and luxury.
The property also includes a thatched-roof gourmet restaurant, an oceanfront wellness cabana, a gym and an outdoor wellness esplanade for yoga and meditation, while a rooftop lounge and bar provide sunset views, and a private beach is dotted with canopy daybeds, tipis and hammocks that billow in the tropical breeze.
Tantamount with its sister properties Chablé Yucatan and Chablé Maroma, Casa Chablé’s culinary programme is designed by Jorge Vallejo, chef and owner of award-winning restaurant Quintonil in Mexico City. Under his leadership, Executive Chef Alejandro Chavez will prepare cuisine crafted to order, showcasing dishes tailored to guest preferences and made with locally caught fish and produce from the property’s organic gardens.
Named by its ancient Maya inhabitants, Sian Ka’an translates to “origin of the sky” and was inspired by the area’s natural beauty. The biosphere is one of Mexico’s largest protected areas, home to forests, wetlands and lagoons, mangrove stands, ancient ruins, cenotes, forested islets, sandy beaches, as well as the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. The reserve is teeming with wildlife, including dolphins, turtles, migratory birds and colourful fish species. Guests can explore the surrounding biosphere with kayaks and small boats, while paddle boards and snorkelling gear are available for ocean exploration in the crystalline waters of the Laguna Kaan Luum.
Casa Chablé honours the Chablé Hotels commitment to coexist with nature and protect delicate ecosystems. The property is powered by renewable solar and wind energy, along with eco-sensitive water filtration, and features local building materials. It will also be part of Chablé’s partnership with Mexican group Comunal to support the brand’s environmental conservation, sustainability developments and social responsibility.
