Cervo unveils Overlook Lodge
Design Hotels has unveiled plans to open Overlook Lodge by Cervo, an intimate retreat in Switzerland’s Pennine Alps, in December 2017.
Located in the village of Zermatt close to Cervo Mountain Boutique Resort, the property comprises five serviced apartments housed in a newly built lodge. Alpine-inspired interiors throughout incorporate classic design pieces from Hay, lighting by Lampe Gras, and beds by Swedish brand Hästens.
Varying in size from 51-63m2, the Cosy Studio, Vista studio, and Vista two-bedroom apartment, feature a fully furnished kitchen with dining area and heated ski locker, a private terrace, and complimentary WiFi.
Meanwhile, the 152m2 Panoramic and Penthouse apartments comprise three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, as well as a loggia with views of the Matterhorn peaks. In the living rooms, a wood-burning fireplace features alongside Molton Brown amenities to lend a spa-like feel.
Additional facilities include in-room massages, an external spa area, and private transfers by Cervo’s custom electric vehicle. Ski facilities are available through the neighbouring Cervo Mountain Boutique Resort for Matterhorn’s 360 kilometres of slopes.
Meanwhile, the F&B offering at Overlook Lodge includes a continental buffet at nearby Cervo Puro, personalised shopping baskets and hampers, and hand-delivered breakfast boxes.
Situated on the Riedweg Zermatt, the resort is close to the village and Sunnegga cable car. Additionally, buses offer access to the central rail station, Gornergrat, and onwards to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. The car-free Zermatt is accessible by train with the Glacier Express, while Zurich and Geneva airports are around 250 kilometres away.
