Casa Bonay launches event space
Casa Bonay, the independent hotel in the Dreta de L’Eixample area of Barcelona, is to launch a new events and cultural space in January 2018. Located in the building next to the hotel, the multifunctional space has been designed by acclaimed Brooklyn designers Studio Tack, who also completed the hotel’s original design.
Housed in a neoclassical building, Casa Bonay features a restaurant, coffee shop, cocktail bar and rooftop. The events space will bring a new dimension to the hotel, offering a canvas for events and an area for cultural experimentation in the worlds of food, art, film and music.
Designed to house up to 300 people, the new area at will encompass a uniformity of materials, with rust-coloured walls complemented by tan and cream textiles, as well as darker accents and details.
Featuring six moveable monoliths, the design layout can be converted to create flexibility when used as a screening room, lecture theatre, yoga studio, exhibition hall, and wedding venue. Alongside hosting private events, Casa Bonay will work with their collaborators to create a monthly calendar of cultural events from food demonstrations and talks to DJ nights and film screenings.
As well as the main space, a full bar featuring stool seating will offer quality drinks from natural wines to expert cocktails. The kitchen will be headed by executive chef Estanislao Carenzo, offering an adaptive menu tailored to individual events.
Inés Miró-Sans, co-founder of Casa Bonay, comments: “This new addition is key for the hotel. On the one hand it will enable us to offer further added value to our clients, providing them with a unique space for events and meetings. At the same time, through the new space we will be able to create and develop great cultural content for the city and our guests.”
