Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts has announced that its newest project, Bvlgari Resort & Mansions Cave Cay, will open in 2029 in the Bahamas.

The new addition will bring the collection to thirteen properties, including previously announced projects in Maldives, Miami Beach and Bodrum which are set to open between 2026 and 2027.

ACPV Architects is responsible for the design of the project, as well as the curation of all Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts outposts around the world. Global hospitality and lifestyle real estate consultancy firm Servotel meanwhile is the lead development advisor of the project.

Located on Cave Cay – a 220-acre private island located in the Exumas – the property will comprise 64 suites and seafront villas, as well as 48 Bvlgari-branded private mansions and estates.

Patricia Viel, co-founder of the studio behind the design, comments: “The residential and bespoke style of Bvlgari hospitality finds an ideal setting here. The resort and mansions unfold across the entirety of the island, remote yet accessible, preserving its natural beauty, landscapes, and breathtaking scenery. Like all the Exumas Cays, Cave Cay protects an extraordinary inner lagoon from the might of the Atlantic Ocean. The island’s natural architecture will be reflected in the design of the villas and mansions, expressed through the distinctive roof profiles and transparent views that open fully to the sea overlooking a coastline punctuated by coves and beaches.”

The resort is slated to offer a wide range of facilities including an extensive spa and wellness centre, a multi-sports enclave, kids’ club, Bvlgari Bar and Il Ristorante – Niko Romito, curated by three-Michelin-starred Chef Niko Romito. A fully activated marina will also accommodate the docking needs of residents and provide visitors with a promenade offering a variety of shops and gastronomic experiences.

“The Exumas have been establishing themselves in recent years as the ultimate glamorous destinations in the Caribbean, attracting the most prestigious and sophisticated clients,” says Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bvlgari. “We are thrilled to present such an extraordinary project, which will become not only the first Bvlgari resort in the Caribbean but also a new point of reference for the community of upscale and discerning travellers who already know and appreciate the other ‘gems of hospitality’ in the Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts Collection. We envision the Bvlgari Resort Cave Cay to shine as the ultimate sustainable luxury destination and experience in the region, crafted by the Roman jeweller of hospitality.”

Emile Haddad, Chairman of the Board for Cave Cay General Partner, also adds: “Our group is made up of international investors and stakeholders who have built award winning communities as well as hotels and resorts globally. This partnership with Bvlgari brings together people who share a similar philosophy about building places. A philosophy founded in quality, sustainability, and providing a superior experience at every level. The Bvlgari Resort & Mansions at Cave Cay is consistent with the Bahamian government’s vision of making the Exuma the premiere destination in the Caribbean.”
